7 Dear Creatures is one of my all time favorite independent designers. I couldn’t tell you how I originally stumbled upon them, but I’m so glad I did. It’s like the company said, “hey, there’s this girl, Sam in Pennsylvania that I think we could make insanely happy with our clothing line. Let’s start a brand that make clothes exclusively with her in mind.”

Founded in 2007 by Bianca Benitez and Rob Sinclair, the duo has made it their career to pump out retro-modern clothing which they quite accurately accurately claim, “spin sentimental tales of whimsy.” Each season, the company produces new clothing paired with a photo spread which I almost equally anticipated. This past week, Dear Creatures premiered their first batch of Fall clothing with Annie Monroe (of The Like) as this season’s model. With each image of the line, it’s like you are transported deeper into an episode of Laverne and Shirely, or the opening credits of the Mary Tyler Moore Show. Loveee.

Although they sell their line at several independent boutiques, and a few large scale retailers such as ModCloth and Urban Outfitters, by logging on to their website, dearcreatures.com, you will be able to view the line in it’s entirety. They are also having mad sales on their Spring/Summer line at the moment if you wanted to stock up for next year. And I mean up to 50% off or more kind-of-a-sale. Also, be sure to like them on Facebook because they often put up promotional sales now and then. So what better way to spend your Sunday afternoon than by queing up some Nick at Nite 70’s gems a la All in the Family perhaps, and log on the Dear Creatures to soak up all the dimly lit, glowing warmth that is the fall.

*Quick Tip: Dear Creatures runs incredibly large. ALWAYS and I mean ALWAYS, opt for one size down.
